Meet Mia
I'm Mia — the person behind The Posh Pup Collective, and before that, someone who spent a full year finding out exactly how far "someday" could get pushed back.
I had a corporate job, and I was good at it. For an entire year, I asked for a raise I'd earned. Every time, I was handed a new list of things to work on first — skills to build, boxes to check, opportunities to "earn" it. I did the work. A few months later, I'd ask again, and get handed a new list. This cycle repeated every few months, before I finally understood what was actually happening: there was never a plan for me to get that raise. There was just another list.
That was the moment something clicked. Not anger, exactly — more like clarity. I didn't want my income, or my worth, decided by a company that had no real intention of recognizing either. So I gave myself a year to build something of my own instead, and bet on myself to make it work.
It started with dog bandanas. Not because I had a five-year plan — because I could sew, I had two dogs who needed something cute to wear, and it was a place to start. I figured out the rest as I went: the fabric, the sizing, the templates, the actual business of it. A year later, I'd built something that could stand on its own. I left the corporate job for good.
Why I'm Still Doing This
The bandanas were never really the point. The point is that I'm proof you don't have to wait until you feel ready, qualified, or certain to start building something of your own.
That's who this is for — the woman who's always known she was meant for more than the path she's on, and just needs to see someone else do it first. If that's you: I made everything I make, including the mistakes, in public. Come figure it out alongside me.
The Rest of the Team
The Posh Pup Collective is run out of my home in Kansas City by me, and supervised — loosely — by Auggie and Charlie, my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Auggie's the anxious older brother who oversees everything from a safe distance. Charlie's bigger, louder, and generally asleep at my feet while I sew.
